Learn How to Travel Without Terror

travel-without-terrorWith the potential for terrorist attacks striking fear into travellers in Europe in the Middle East, people might think there are no longer any safe place to visit.

Here are some countries that aren’t likely to see any terrorist activity:

Mongolia

The days of Genghis Khan and his brutal empire are long gone. Today, Mongolia is place where you can visit Khuvsgul Lake, the second-largest freshwater lake by volume in the world. Then there’s the Gobi desert, where double-humped camels roam the sands. It is also home to some of the world’s last remaining true nomadic people.

Madagascar

Five per cent of the world’s animal and plant species can he found only in Madagascar. Beside the island’s signature Lemur, Madagascar is also home to the fossa (a spooky-looking cat-like predator), brightly coloured chameleons and vibrant frogs. The plants and trees are just as unique, including the baobabs.

Cambodia

Once home to the feared Khmer Rouge, Cambodia is becoming one of Asia’s fastest-growing tourist destinations. A visit to the temple Angkor Wat is considered the highlight of any visit to Cambodia. Angkor Wat is adorned with carvings of incredible heavenly dancers wearing bangles, beaded anklets and sheer drop-waist skirts. The beaches of Sihanoukville are also a huge attraction.

Uruguay

Uruguay is becoming a hot spot for its amazing wineries and is the fourth-largest producer of wine in South America. Colonia del Sacramento, 180 km from the capital Montevideo, but only 50 km from Buenos Aires by ferry, is a picturesque town has been declared a Unesco World Heritage site.

Bolivia

Without a doubt, a trek to Salar de Uyuni is a most haunting sight as it is home to world’s largest salt flat. When the surface is dry, the salar is a pure white vastnesswith blue sky and white ground. When there’s a tinyamount of water, the surface reflects the clouds and the blue sky and the horizon vanishes.

If you want to rest assured that you are travelling safe, consider visiting a local travel clinic to find out about which vaccines are recommended in certain countries.
